How is Lavandin oil made?
Lavandin is a cross between different types of lavender, making the scent even more intense and refreshing than that of "real" lavender oil. The fresh inflorescences of the lavandin are steam distilled to produce the organic lavandin oil. The organic lavandin oil is sometimes derogatoryly referred to as "cleansing lavender". It bears this nickname completely incorrectly. As a cheaper alternative to lavender oil, it does the trick in many areas.

What is Lavandin oil most commonly used for?
Lavandin is a cross between different types of lavender, making the scent even more intense and refreshing than that of "real" lavender oil. The fresh inflorescences of the lavandin are steam distilled to produce the organic lavandin oil. The organic lavandin oil is sometimes derogatoryly referred to as "cleansing lavender". It bears this nickname completely incorrectly. As a cheaper alternative to lavender oil, it does the trick in many areas.
It is said to have a germicidal effect, which explains its use in some cleansers. Like real lavender oil, which is said to have a stronger calming effect compared to organic lavandin oil, organic lavandin oil is also said to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects on the skin and respiratory tract. The organic lavandin oil should support colds, inflammation skin or smaller wounds.
Organic lavandin oil also plays a role in the cosmetics industry in the scent of perfumes, soaps and skin and hair care products. Organic lavandin oil is also commonly found in scented sticks or scented candles. As a "laundry fragrance" it combines the pleasant with the useful. The laundry has a stimulating smell, which should also keep clothes moths at bay.
Lavandin is an underutilized flavor in the food industry. The organic lavandin oil comes into its own in special, fine baked goods, sweets or liqueurs.
In aromatherapy, organic lavandin oil is believed to relieve nervousness and palpitations, albeit slightly less than real lavender oil.
The organic lavandin oil goes well with bergamot, mandarin, orange, petitgrain, sage and lemon.
